Here’s what is open and closed on the civic holiday in Hamilton, Burlington and Niagara

The civic holiday is not a statutory holiday so many stores are open, but operating on holiday hours.

Here is a list of what is open and closed:

Most LCBO and beer stores across Ontario are open on Monday, as well as most grocery stores and malls.

GO Trains are operating on a Saturday schedule.

Hamilton

  • No green bin, blue box, yard waste, bulk waste, or garbage pick-up. Waste collection will occur one day earlier.
  • HSR buses will operate on a Sunday schedule
  • Jackson Square is closed. Lime Ridge Mall is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eastgate
  • Mall is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Hamilton public libraries are closed
  • Hamilton outdoor pools will operate normal hours
  • All administrative offices closed
  • The Art Gallery of Hamilton is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Hamilton’s Tropical Greenhouse at Gage Park will be closed

Burlington

  • Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule
  • There is no garbage pick up
  • All administration offices closed
  • Burlington’s indoor pools are closed. Arenas and community centres are closed.

Niagara

  • No changes to curbside garbage collection
  • Niagara Region Transit, Niagara Specialized Transit and NRT ONDemand are not operating
