A joint investigation between provincial and municipal police has culminated in the arrest of several outlaw motorcycle gang members accused of carrying out an assault and robbery in Hamilton.

On Friday, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) force announced it had carried out a nearly two-month-long investigation into an assault that had occurred during the summer.

The incident took place at an establishment in Hamilton dating back to July 4.

Police say five men, all of them accused of being members of an outlaw motorcycle gang, allegedly robbed a person of their personal belongings.

The matter led investigators from Hamilton and the province’s biker enforcement unit to carry out a police raid at the accused’s residences and the Hells Angels and Red Devils MC clubhouses in Hamilton.

During the search, officers seized four shotguns, three rifles, a shotgun barrel, ammunition, body armour and a firearm’s license.

Three men have been charged with assault causing bodily harm and robbery, they are:

  • Joel Rollin, age 41 of Grimsby;
  • Trevor Pittman, age 34 of Ancaster; and
  • Daniel Fish, age 36 of Brantford.

Additionally, 36-year-old William Ashford-Smith is facing similar charges, as well as breach of a prohibition order and unauthorized possession of a prohibited device.

Fifty-one-year-old Jason Hall of York is also facing similar charges of assault and robbery, as well as a singular count for breaching firearm storage regulations.

All of the men have been released and are expected to appear in court in Hamilton on Sept. 13.

Police are encouraging anyone with additional information to contact Crime Stoppers or the OPP.
