Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field sees upgrades for 110th Grey Cup

First Published:

Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field is expected to receive some cosmetic upgrades in anticipation of the 110th Grey Cup in November, greatly enhancing the fan experience.

A 90,000 square foot South Plaza will feature a giant outdoor tailgate, with drinks and live entertainment.

The plaza is an intended space for fans arriving early to gather. There will be interactive games, an entertainment stage with live music and a variety of food and drink.

New private, sideline terrace spaces will be available in three midfield sections in the stands. The seats will provide the energy of a full-capacity stadium experience while still giving stadium-best sightlines.

And in the Touchdown Lounge Suites, fans will have the opportunity for the first time in Tim Hortons Field history to host and view game action from private suites adjacent to the field of play in the south end.

The enhancements will raise Tim Hortons Field’s seating capacity from 23,218 to 31,000.

Scott Mitchell, managing partner and CEO for Hamilton Sports Group, recognizes the value in a constantly evolving venue.

“We are incredibly excited to be hosting the Grey Cup in 2023 and look forward to an outstanding event for Canadians from coast to coast.” Mitchell said.

Grey Cup tickets publicly go on sale on July 1 at 10 a.m. and are available to purchase from Ticketmaster.
