Hamilton police investigate bomb threats at 2 public high schools

Hamilton police are investigating bomb threats toward two public secondary schools Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to Glendale Secondary School shortly before 8 a.m. after a staff member received an email containing a bomb threat.

Students and staff evacuated the building as police canvassed the area, but they since got the green light to reenter the school and resume classes as scheduled.
This is the second bomb threat toward the high school is less than one month. Police responded around 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 27 following a threatening email sent to a staff member.

Nearly 90 minutes later, Hamilton police responded to another bomb threat toward Westmount Secondary School Tuesday morning.
Officers are warning the public to expect a large police presence in the area as they investigate.
Students and staff returned to the building around 10:30 a.m. and resumed classes.
A spokesperson for the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board says families can expect communication from the school later Tuesday.
