The city of Hamilton and Canada Post are back in court today as the city challenges the crown corporation over its rollout of community mailboxes.

City staff and the postal union are still trying to stop the installation of community mailboxes, but Canada Post insists it’s moving ahead with the rollout. The crown corporation says once the boxes are installed, keys will be sent to the owners.

Today in court, the judge asked the city’s lawyer why they’re opposed to community mailboxes, when similar boxes have been in the community for 30 years.

CHCH’s Donna Skelly will have the outcome of today’s proceedings tonight on the Evening News at 6.
