Hamilton police spot vehicle ‘driving erratically’, find loaded handgun inside

Hamilton police say three people are facing charges after a loaded handgun was found inside a vehicle on the mountain.

Police say officers were on patrol near Concession St. and Upper Gage shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday when they spotted three people inside a vehicle “driving erratically” in the area.

They say the vehicle fled the area but was located abandoned a few minutes later in the area of Upper Wellington St. and Limeridge Rd. East.

Police located a loaded handgun and magazine inside the vehicle.

A short distance away, officers arrested 26-year-old Shola Sadiq, of Brampton, 24-year-old Mohamed Fuad, of Hamilton, and a 17-year-old from Scarborough.

All three are facing numerous firearms-related charges.
