Hamilton police seek missing 47-year-old man

First Published:

A Hamilton woman is worried sick about her son’s sudden disappearance.

47-year-old Ryan Lonergan was last seen 22 days ago when his mother dropped him off at Jackson Square.

On Dec. 1, Lonergan’s mother dropped him off at Jackson Square, Lonergan told her that he wanted to use the free wifi at the library nearby to set up his new phone.

Lonergan’s mom, Nancy Burton says, “he said, I’m going to step up my phone, I’ll call you tomorrow with my new number and that was it. He was not in a bad mood, he seemed fine.”

Burton filed a police report about a week ago and says police have been checking her son’s apartment daily to see if he shows up.

Burton says she last saw her son wearing a winter coat that was black on the top and dark green on the bottom, blue jeans, black gloves, and tan coloured works boots.

Hamilton police have confirmed to CHCH News that there is in fact a missing person’s report for Lonergan and they continue to investigate the man’s disappearance.

Burton says she usually spends Christmas with her son, and the last time she saw him she told him about Christmas dinner plans. Lonergan’s aunt says he’s a fun-loving active guy always willing to help.

Anyone with information on Lonergan’s whereabouts is asked to call police.
