Hamilton police respond to increase in shootings with permanent team

Hamilton police are making their Shooting Response Team a permanent fixture in response to an increase in gun violence in the city.
The year-long pilot project was started to address gunfire that resulted in serious injuries or endangered individuals and properties in Hamilton.
Police say they have recognized the need for a dedicated team to investigate non-lethal shootings as these incidents are happening more often.
For the past two weekends in Hamilton, police have reported two different, unrelated shootings.
