Hamilton police pay tribute to 5 officers through blood donation drive

First Published:

Members of the Hamilton Police Service (HPS) are paying tribute to five officers by holding a month-long blood donation drive.

“November to Remember” kicked off on Tuesday at Canadian Blood Services in Ancaster.

It is being held in memory of officers Frank Mossuto, Ryan Royle, Matt Oakes, Paul Strabac and former Chief of Police, Brian Mullan.

“These men received many blood transfusions and [sic] thanks to the generosity of blood donors, their loved ones had the opportunity to have more time with them,” said police in a press release.

The police service has pledged to fill 100 appointments during the month of November.

HPS is encouraging staff, friends, family and the community to also donate blood.
