Hamilton police looking for 3rd vehicle in fatal weekend Linc crash

Hamilton police are searching for a third vehicle believed to have played a “significant” role in the death of a 23-year-old driver involved in a collision on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway last Saturday.
Officers first reported that just before 9 a.m. a black BMW being operated by a 23-year-old man was driving westbound on the Linc near Upper James St. when it lost control and crossed the centre median.
Upon entering the opposite side of the parkway, the BMW struck an eastbound Ford motor vehicle that was being driven by a 72-year-old woman.
The 23-year-old man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.

The 72-year-old woman was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries after being briefly trapped in the vehicle as a result of the collision.
Investigators now say they are looking for a dark-coloured Infinity motor vehicle that was travelling westbound on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway at the time of the collision.
They have reason to believe the Infinity played a significant part in the fatality and ask for the driver and/or owner of the vehicle to come forward.
Witnesses to this collision who haven’t yet spoken to police are asked to call the collision reconstruction unit at 905-546-4753.
