Hamilton police launch investigation into east-end shooting

Hamilton police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a shooting in the city’s east-end late Friday night.

Officers responded to the area of Melvin Avenue and Bernard Street around 11:40 p.m. for reports of a shooting that had occurred into the door of an apartment.

There were no injuries in the incident.

Investigators are asking for residents and business owners in the area to review surveillance and dash-camera footage between 11:30 p.m. and 12 a.m. for any suspicious activity.
