Hamilton police have requested information from TikTok after a photo was published on the account of a woman missing for over a year.

Emily Bailey disappeared at the age of 23 and was last seen leaving a home on Weir St. North on Jan. 1, 2022 following a party the previous night.

Two months later, the homicide unit took over the investigation due to their belief of foul play being involved in the disappearance of the mother of two.

Despite past issues with drugs and homelessness, Bailey’s loved ones have said she remained connected with her daughters and was trying to turn her life around before she disappeared.

Almost a year and a half after her disappearance, a photo of a dog laying on grass with a stick in its mouth was posted on Bailey’s TikTok account. The song “Cupid” by the South Korean girl group Fifty Fifty is also playing.

Police told CHCH News that investigators believe her account was hacked. Officers have contacted TikTok in order to receive information about the origin of the post.
