Hamilton police investigate after crash sends cyclist to hospital

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating after a crash Tuesday that sent a cyclist to hospital in serious condition.

Officers say a 53-year-old Hamilton man was riding his bike westbound on King St. East shortly before 5 p.m. when he collided with a 2006 Smart car that was travelling southbound on Wentworth St. North.

The 31-year-old Hamilton woman who was driving the Smart car remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Police say the cyclist was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.
