Hamilton police ID victim of Connaught Avenue homicide as Randy Peardon, 37

Hamilton police have revealed the identity of a man who was killed over the weekend.
They say 37-year-old Randy Peardon was found dead inside an apartment building at 100 Connaught Ave. South on Saturday.
The initial call drew officers to the scene shortly after 1:45 p.m.
Following his discovery, the department’s homicide unit was called in to investigate, and an autopsy later ruled his death as a homicide.
Police are mum on the details but say the investigation remains ongoing.
“At this time, we are still trying to determine who was in and out of that building at the time of the murder,” Sgt. Det. Rob DiIanni said in an update Monday.
He added that the man’s cause of death is known but that it cannot be revealed at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.
Police did say that Peardon lived in the area, but not in the residence in which he was found.
He leaves behind three children.
The scene continues to be held pending a search warrant.
