Hamilton man wanted for York sexual assaults surrenders

Police in York region say a Hamilton holistic healer they believe to be involved in multiple sexual assault incidents has surrendered.

According to officials, two victims reported being sexually assaulted by the suspect during a holistic healing session in a private residence. These assaults reportedly happened in March and June.

Arrest warrants were issued for 67-year-old Laurent Ali Akbari. Police originally believed he had fled to Türkiye, but he has since surrendered.

Officials in York region say they believe there may be more victims, and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
