Hamilton man wanted in Burlington shooting found dead

A Hamilton man wanted in connection with a shooting in Burlington has been found dead.

Halton police say 37-year-old David Lavoie was located Monday evening in Burlington.

Lavoie was wanted for attempted murder in a shooting at a home in the area of Maple Crossing Blvd. on Sept. 9.

A man in his thirties was found at the home suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital in stable condition.

A short time later, police issued an arrest warrant for Lavoie. Investigators say the two men were known to each other.

Police say Lavoie’s death was not suspicious and police are not searching for any suspects.
