Hamilton man arrested after woman harassed while walking

A 35-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with criminal harassment after a woman was followed and approached in the Stipley neighbourhood.

Hamilton police say a woman was walking in the area of King Street East and Barnesdale Avenue South on Feb 8. when she was followed and approached by the driver of a black Honda Civic.

Police say a brief interaction ensued but there was no physical contact during the incident. The vehicle fled in an unknown direction.

An investigation resulted in the arrest of 35-year-old Issa Ahmed Aldeeb of Hamilton. He has been charged with one count of criminal harassment.

Aldeeb has been released on an undertaking, meaning he signed a piece of paper agreeing to comply with certain conditions upon his release instead of being held for a bail hearing.

Officers say more victims in relation to the accused have stepped forward, resulting in ongoing police investigations.
