Hamilton issues heat warning with high temperatures forecasted

The Medical Officer of Health for the City of Hamilton has issued a heat warning starting on Sunday as temperatures are expected to reach into the 30s for the next few days.
Humidex readings of 34 are anticipated over the next three to five days, as a hot air mass settles in the region from Sunday to Wednesday.
The city says the warning will stay in effect until they are cancelled or escalated to an extended heat warning.
The city says although some areas may experience cooler overnight temperatures below warning levels, the daytime highs and humidex values will be unusually high for early September. The arrival of a cold front on Wednesday will bring an end to the heat.
Participating community agencies and the city are responding to the heat by offering “cool places” to go during all stages of a heat event. These locations can be identified by a “Cool Down Here” sign at the entrance.
