A large portion of southern Ontario is bracing for yet another snow storm expected to begin Friday evening.

Environment Canada has issued winter storm warnings and watches from Brockville and Peterborough through the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area to Hanover, Owen Sound, Niagara and Sarnia.

The federal agency says the Hamilton and Halton areas will see 15 to 25 cm of snow, while the Niagara region can anticipate between 10 and 20 cm.

The affected cities could see snow fall at a rate of 4 to 6 cm per hour at times.

It says the snowfall and blowing snow is expected to affect travel conditions and visibility.

Air Canada is warning customers of possible delays or cancellations due to the winter storm for Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and Halifax.

“Heavy snow in combination with strong easterly winds will create significantly reduced visibility and hazardous travel conditions,” the weather agency said.

A Texas low is expected to bring the heavy snow and strong winds to a large swath of southern Ontario.
