Hamilton asks police to crackdown on loud vehicles

Hamilton city council is asking police to crackdown on loud vehicles.
A motion put forward by Ward 6 Coun. Tom Jackson passed with unanimous support at Wednesday’s council meeting.
It seems to be a city-wide issue, with many councillors noting they’ve been getting increased complaints from residents.
“Obviously this increased level of noise issue is grating on many people’s nerves anxieties and quality of life in neighbourhoods,” said Jackson.
Trucks, cars and motorcycles either have mufflers removed or have a piece of equipment attached to vehicles to make them extra noisy, he noted.
Halton Police launched a similar crackdown, called Project Noisemaker earlier this month.
The issue will be discussed at Hamilton’s police services board meeting next month.
