Halton woman killed in Brampton homicide that police say could have been prevented

A man charged in the death of a Halton Hills woman had recently been arrested for possession of a firearm.

Darian Henderson-Bellman was found dead in Brampton on Tuesday July 28.

Her ex-boyfriend Darnell Reid has been charged with second-degree murder.

Reid had a lengthy criminal history and had been released from custody in May.

Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah says there was a “complete failure of our justice system to protect her. ”
