Halton police find $400K in stolen collectible items, suspects arrested

Halton police have charged two people responsible for several commercial break and enters that targeted collectible stores.

In February, investigators identified a suspect who was believed to be involved in several store break and enters in Oakville, Burlington, Niagara, Brantford, York and London.

Officers say they executed a search warrant on Feb. 24 at a residence and storage facility in Hamilton known to the suspect. Police also searched a vehicle belonging to a female connected to the suspect.

As a result of the investigation, police seized a large amount of collectible items stolen during recent break-ins.

The stolen items included high value sports cards, Pokémon and other collectible cards, comic books and figurines worth around $400,000.

Police are working to identify the rightful owners of the stolen items.

Jarreh Grant, 32, of Stoney Creek is facing a slew of charges including four counts of break and enter, trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a controlled substance – crack cocaine.

Grant has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Sarah Skrtich, 32, of Hamilton has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Skritch was released on an undertaking.
