Halton regional police say officers arrested a truck driver who hasn’t held a valid driver’s licence in 21 years.

Police were randomly stopping tractor trailers and large transport vehicles on Oct. 1 to ensure drivers are complying with safety protocols.

Arrests also included those for ‘driving while prohibited’.

Officers were diverting transport trucks off of Hwy 401 near Campbellville road to inspect the vehicles.

Police services from across Southern Ontario were involved in the road safety operation.
