Halton police arrest Toronto man, seize over $1.2M worth of drugs

First Published:

Halton police have arrested a man from Toronto and seized over $1.2 million worth of illicit drugs and cash.

At the time of the arrest on Feb. 22, investigators seized 23 kilograms of cocaine, which triggered a search warrant at a Toronto condominium where psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and over $13,000 of cash was found.

Zachary Ardizzi, 30, of Toronto has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine, psilocybin).

Ardizzi appeared in court on Feb. 23.

Police determined the wholesale value of the cocaine seized is around $1.2 million.

“This amount of cocaine poses a real danger to the public,” said Deputy Chief of Regional Operations, Jeff Hill.

“Drug interdiction and holding those that place our community at risk accountable, is a high priority for our service.”

Anyone who can provide information regarding drug trafficking is encouraged to contact police at 905-825-4777 ext. 5331.
