Halton police arrest teenager in relation to 5 robberies in Milton

Halton police have arrested a teenager who is accused of robbing five businesses in Milton over three months.

Police say the 19-year old suspect was involved in robbing four pharmacies in June and July, as well as one convenience store in May.

Investigators say he stole cash, narcotics and vaping products from the businesses, using either a gun or knife.

Officers say the suspect was also involved in a vehicle crash in the area of Ontario and Pine streets in Milton on May 30.

Investigators say he was driving the same vehicle he used to rob the convenience store, which he later abandoned to run away. The vehicle was reported to be stolen from Peel Region.

Police carried out a search warrant at a home in Milton and arrested Oluwaseni Latoye in connection with these offences.

Latoye is facing charges for robbery with a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime and failure to stop after accident.

He is in custody pending a bail hearing.

Officers are searching for additional suspects who were also involved in the above robberies.
