Police arrested five people on Tuesday allegedly connected to a human trafficking ring that was operating within the GTA and Halton region.

An investigation began in May looking into a trafficking ring that was believed to have been operating in the Greater Toronto Area and the Halton region since 2019.

Officers executed five search warrants at homes in Brampton and Toronto arresting four men and one woman allegedly connected to the trafficking ring.

Investigators say they seized loaded firearms, large sums of cash and identification documents as a result of the search warrants.

Police have arrested:

  • Prince Monroe, a 35-year-old from Brampton that also goes by Casino Barnes
  • Sabrina Leite-Moniz, a 25-year-old from Brampton that also goes by Lady SB
  • Jamie Munroe, a 33-year-old from Mississauga
  • Jonathan Bennet, a 25-year-old from Shelburne, Ont.
  • Shuwyane Mitchelle, a 30-year-old from Courtice, Ont.

The five people are facing several charges including assault with a weapon, human trafficking, and advertising sexual services.

The department has not said how many victims of the human trafficking ring there are, but have released the photos of the accused believing that there may be more.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
