Halton police arrest 5 robbery suspects after fleeing officers, crashing vehicle into cruisers

Halton police have arrested five people after their vehicle allegedly collided into police cruisers while trying to escape following a robbery in Oakville.
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday when officers tried to stop the vehicle at the QEW off-ramp at Brant Street in Burlington.
Investigators say the suspects were wanted for a robbery at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Oakville.
The suspect vehicle allegedly rammed two police cruisers in an attempt to flee but were caught on foot shortly after.

Police say the suspects tried to escape on foot and were arrested shortly after.
Officers say during the arrest, they used a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) on one of the suspects.
No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
Police say three of the five accused are young people, but their ages were not provided.
