A joint investigation between the Peel and Halton regions’ police forces has led to the arrest of one man after a series of thefts totaling more than $2.2 million.
Officials say two suspects linked to this investigation remain outstanding.
The first of four incidents police are aware of happened in May, where the suspects allegedly breached a Purolator tractor-trailer while it was in motion. Once onboard, the three men stole $1.8 million worth of merchandise.
In a similar fashion, police say the suspects stole another $300,000 worth of electronics from another Purolator vehicle in June.
Later in the month, the three men police believe to be connected to these incidents attempted to board a trailer to steal more electronics, and were confronted by the driver.
Police say after threatening violence, the suspects were able to escape with $120,000 worth of TVs, laptops, and printers.

In July, the men attempted once more to steal from a truck containing $1.2 million worth of cellphones, but they were unsuccessful.
These incidents took place across Mississauga and Oakville, initiating a joint investigation between the two regions’ police forces.
Marius Ionescu, a 36-year-old man from Scarborough, has been arrested and is facing numerous charges in relation to these crimes.
Florian Porumbita, a 29-year-old man from Scarborough, and a 27-year-old man of the same name also from Scarborough, are wanted in connection with the thefts.
