Gone Girl

Gone Girl is a mystery-thriller film based on Gillian Flynn’s bestselling novel of the same name, and is directed by David Fincher (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Zodiac). The film stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Carrie Coon, and Sela Ward. The official synopsis reads as follows:

GONE GIRL – directed by David Fincher and based upon the global bestseller by Gillian Flynn – unearths the secrets at the heart of a modern marriage. On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?

Gone Girl had its world premiere at this year’s New York Film Festival. If you’ve read the novel then you’re probably familiar with the story, but that doesn’t mean you’ll know how the film ends. It has been reported that Fincher’s adaptation will have a different ending than the book. The film’s screenplay was written by Flynn herself so the ending should prove to be just as exciting as the original one.
