Funeral to be held for man shot outside Stoney Creek home

A funeral is set to be held Monday morning for a Stoney Creek man who was shot outside his family home last week.
Giorgio Barresi, 42, was gunned down around 10:45 p.m. on Mar. 2 in the driveway of his house on Portofino Place.
Police say his family was inside the home at the time of the shooting. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to his obituary, Barresi was a father of three who put his children above everything else.
It goes on to add, “He was a loving and devoted husband and amazing cook. To those who knew him, they saw first hand the way he could light up a room with his charismatic personality. You have left a whole in our hearts and will forever be loved and missed.”
Investigators are still trying to determine a motive behind the shooting and say they are exploring all possibilities.
They say he was known to police but detectives would not elaborate on the connection.
Police have made no arrests in connection with his death. Investigators are still looking for a four-door sedan that was seen fleeing the area after the shooting, and believe more than one attacker may have been involved.
Barresi worked as a realtor in the Golden Horseshoe Area and attended Hamilton’s Cathedral High School.
His funeral is being held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
