A Hamilton initiative is taking advantage of a fruitful summer harvest — and paying it forward. The Fruit Tree Project picks unwanted fruit from backyards and then donates it to people in need. The simple initiative is filling a big need in the city.

It’s a simple idea, but Hamilton’s Fruit Tree Project is one of few organizations in Canada doing it.
