Former Toronto Maple Leafs, Nazem Kadri brings the Stanley Cup home

London hometown hockey star Nazem Kadri was greeted by thousands as he brought home the Stanley Cup.
He was joined by his family and friends for a parade. It was not only a day of redemption for the former Maple Leaf player but a ray of light for a healing city.
The parade began at the London Muslim Mosque where the hometown hero kicked off his Stanley Cup celebration after claiming hockey’s biggest prize with the Colorado Avalanche this summer.
With his family and friends, the parade then made its way all the way to Victoria Park in downtown London where Kadri was greeted by thousands of people.
Since being drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2009, a spotlight has been on the fiesty forward.
Most recently during the Stanley Cup Playoff run, Kadri had to respond to hateful attacks towards him and his family and returns to a community still suffering from an attack that killed a Muslim family of four back in the Summer of 2021.
Nazem Kadri now heads to Western Canada where he’ll don the colour of red after signing a 7-year, $49-million contract with the Calgary Flames.
