Fire damages Sherkston Shores property, trailers and vehicles

First Published:

Multiple vehicles and three trailers at Sherkston Shores were severely damaged in a fire early Monday morning.

Port Colborne emergency crews responded around 6:30 a.m. to reports of a fire at a property.

Witnesses say when firefighters arrived, two trailers were fully engulfed in flames, spreading quickly to a third.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze after several vehicles caught fire and nearby buildings were scorched.

The fire chief told CHCH News that they believe a mechanical fire that started in an unoccupied trailer was the cause.

The fire is not considered suspicious at this time, and the total cost in damages is still being assessed.

Niagara police have not yet disclosed if anyone was injured.
