Fire crews tackled flames at a former public school that has sat empty in Fort Erie after it caught fire Monday evening.

The fire reportedly broke out on the third story of Ridgeway-Crystal Beach High School, but there’s been no word yet on the cause.

The flames spread quickly after the ceiling on the second floor broke open and fire crews from three stations were needed to get it under control.
