Fire Chief David Cunliffe says the blaze was well involved by the time fire crews from the Rockton Station arrived.
The address was in a non-hydrant area, so volunteer crews from four other stations were dispatched to get water to the front lines.
Chief Cunliffe says firefighters quickly went to work to protect another large warehouse that was nearby. There were three tractor trailers and another transport trailer in this unit. Crews were successful and the building only suffered minor damage.
