Fire at St. Catharines building causes over $3M in damages

Emergency crews responded to calls of thick black smoke coming out of Niagara Investment Castings Ltd., an industrial building in St. Catharines on Monday night.
Crews arrived around 7:45 p.m. to find the back of the building fully engulfed in flames.
Trevor Parker, deputy chief at St. Catharines Fire Services, says crews initially broke down a door to go inside, but switched to a defense approach after the roof of the building collapsed.

The expected cost of damage is over $3 million dollars.
Crews say the fire does not present any environmental concerns.
There are no injuries to report at this time.
