Hamilton police are investigating two fatal motorcycle crashes in the span of 24 hours.

A crash on Upper Paradise Road Wednesday night involving a motorcycle and a vehicle killed one man and sent a woman to hospital.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a collision at around 11 p.m. in the area of Upper Paradise Road and Lunner Avenue.

Hamilton police says that a 37-year-old man from Hamilton was driving a Honda motorcycle northbound on Upper Paradise Road when he attempted to pass another vehicle.

The motorcycle hit the vehicle and threw the man from his seat.

Paramedics told CHCH News that the motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital without vital signs.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit was a 40-year-old woman from Hamilton, who was transported to local hospital in stable condition.

On Thursday, police took to social media to inform the public of sudden road closures on Barton Street East, saying a collision had taken place between Sherman Avenue North and Lottridge Street.

The post went on to say one person had been transported to hospital, but had since been pronounced deceased.

Police confirmed to CHCH News this victim was another motorcyclist.

Officers remain on scene to investigate, and say the circumstances of the crash remain unclear.

Hamilton police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 905-546-4925.
