Son of Saul has garnered a lot of attention since premiering at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Already the film has been named Best Foreign Film by the Boston, New York, Los Angeles, and Washington film critic’s associations, and it the heavy favourite heading in to the Oscars.

During TIFF we had the chance to talk to the film’s director László Nemes and star Géza Röhrig about the unique cinematic approach they used and and the difficulty of acting in such an important film.
