Early morning shooting in Brantford sends man to hospital

Brantford police are investigating an early morning shooting in the city’s core.

The department says it was called out to Colborne Street and Alfred Street around 5 a.m. Sunday, where it located a man who had been shot.

Investigators described the 33-year-old victim’s injuries as “non-life threatening” and say he was taken to hospital and is being treated for his injuries.

Police believe the shooting was a targeted incident and add that there is “no concern for public safety at this time.”
