Crews battle fire multi-unit residential building in Welland

Several residents have been forced out of their homes after a fire broke out at a multi-unit building in Welland.
Crews were called to the blaze early Wednesday at a building near King St. and Ontario Rd.
As of 7 a.m., firefighters were still trying to get the fire under control.
Niagara police say all residents got out safely and no injuries have been reported.
Deputy Fire Chief Adam Eckhart posted an image on Twitter that showed thick, black smoke billowing into the sky. Eckhart warned residents in the area to close their windows and doors.

There are road closures in the area as crews continue to battle the blaze.
Welland Fire is asking people to stay away from the area.
