Crash near Dunnville leaves 2 dead and 2 in hospital

Two are dead and two others were taken to hospital after a crash near Dunnville early Wednesday morning.

Police say there were four people, two men and two women traveling eastbound in a car around 4 a.m. on Haldimand Road 17 when the vehicle lost control near Burke Road and hit a tree.

Three of the people were thrown out of the car, killing one man and one woman on scene. The other two people, another man, and a woman, were taken to hospital.

All four of the people were around 20 to 30 years old but no other details of their identity have been released.

Both police and neighbors say there have been crashes in the area in the past.

Police are still investigating the cause and say nothing has been ruled out.
