Chinnery remembered at vigil

First Published:

A vigil was held Thursday night for a 19-year old shot and killed by police earlier this month.

A group of around twenty people was outside Hamilton city hall, waving signs and calling for justice in the case of Andreas Chinnery. The aspiring rapper was shot and killed on February second when police were called to his Barton Street East apartment.

The case is being investigated by the province’s Special Investigations Unit, ,so the family isn’t having much luck getting any answers into what lead to Chinnery’s death.

They say they’ve been told he was unarmed at the time – and the crowd is calling his death murder by police.
