Young woman killed in QEW crash

The woman died from injuries suffered in an early morning crash on the westbound QEW between Mississauga Road and Erin Mills Parkway. She was one of two taken to hospital after the crash which involved three cars and a tractor-trailer.

OPP say a Lincoln Town Car rear-ended a Nissan Altima sending it into the sound barrier on the north side of the highway. The Lincoln then careened into the left lane where it was rear-ended by a BMW, which in turn was hit by a tractor-trailer.

The driver of the Town Car is facing a careless driving charge. The westbound QEW was closed at Mississauga Road throughout the morning rush hour.
