Yorkdale shooting update

Toronto police say they do not believe a deadly shooting at Yorkdale Mall Saturday night was gang related.

Investigators say multiple firearms were used in the shooting in the west parking lot of the mall, that killed 23 year old Michael Nguyen.

Police say he was known to them, but that there is no indication the shooting involved gangs.

A second victim, a 24 year old man, was shot near a restaurant entrance as a fight between two groups moved across the lot.

The man is in critical condition in hospital, but is expected to live.

Police are interviewing witnesses and surveillance video.

They are asking anyone who saw the crime to come forward.

A post-mortem has not been scheduled at this time.
