York transit strike drags on

It seems there is no end in sight for the York Region Transit strike.

An estimated 44,000 people are still dealing with reduced service as the strike continues.

It’s been five weeks since over 500 bus drivers and maintenance workers from York Region Transit and the region’s privately-owned bus service contractor walked off the job.

The union representing some of the workers says they are willing to go to binding arbitration.

More pickets are planned for this week.
