Wynne wants plan for horse racing

Premier Kathleen Wynne wants a five-year plan for Ontario’s horse racing industry.

Her request is in a letter to the transition board, developing recommendations to help the industry survive after the Liberal government under Dalton McGuinty, pulled the plug on a long-time deal for sharing slots revenue. The panel of former cabinet ministers: Elmer Buchanan, John Snobelen and John Wilkinson, will hand over their final report next month. They’ve already suggested a different funding formula and fewer races.
