Premier Kathleen Wynne continued her tour of some of the province’s universities today, with a stop at London’s Western University.

The premier got an early start this morning by going for a run with some of the university’s athletes. She then took a tour of the campus recreation and athletic centre, before ending her visit with a tour of Western’s active learning centre.

Wynne spoke about her commitment to ensuring that all of Ontario’s campuses are safe and inclusive. “Raising the issues of safety whether it’s around issues of homophobia or around sexual assault, sexual harrassment, you know those are very important conversations.”

“We’re right in the middle at this point of looking at whether there are enough protections, whether the policies that are in place across the province on the campus are the right ones, and I’m hoping that we’ll be able to, in conjunction with administration and students, come up with some guidelines around better processes.”

Wynne visited the LGTBQ organization at McMaster university yesterday. The premier is visiting a number of university and college campuses over the next few weeks to check in on the next generation of the Ontario workforce.
