Wynne threatens to call election

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne has warned she’ll call an election if the opposition keeps preventing any bills from being passed.

Wynne has asked for meetings with Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak and NDP leader Andrea Horwath to see what bills, if any, they can agree to pass this fall.

The premier insists she isn’t seeking a fall election, but warns she doesn’t want another session like last spring where the only bill that passed was the provincial budget.

Wynne says if the opposition leaders won’t agree to help pass some pieces of legislation, then they’ll have to explain to voters why they think an election is a better option than keeping the minority parliament alive.
