Wynne: Flaherty budget not fair

Premier Kathleen Wynne says the federal government’s budget is unfair to the people of Ontario.

Wynne’s comments came the morning after finance minister Jim Flaherty delivered his fiscal plan. In it, Ontario will get more than $600 million less from Ottawa than they had expected.

“A decision that took all of the finance ministers by surprise because the federal government made a decision to to treat the government of Ontario differently then it did all the other governments across the country in the past few years.”

Wynne says this year’s budget will have negative implications on Ontario programs including those for transit and HPV immunization.
