Hamilton police are investigating after a would-be thief armed with a silver knife tried to rob a local business.

Police say a man in his late 20s to early 30s entered a downtown Hamilton business around 12:45 a.m. on Aug. 29.

They say the man approached the counter and made a demand for money.

Investigators say no one was injured during the incident.
